focus group was conducted with mothers of a gifted child (n=5), and an open-ended questionnaire was provided to participants from sample 1 of the quantitative survey; their child was enrolled in 1st or 2nd grades of elementary school (n=74 parents; 60 mothers and 14 fathers; 20 parents with a child diagnosed with conditions such as ADHD, anxiety).

 

 

In both samples, the questions aimed to better understand: 

 

(1) how parents felt about supporting their child's schooling

(2) how the homework period was managed at home

(3) the factors that facilitated or hindered their involvement.
